At the time I was leading a project for my organization's website redesign and we were able to partner with the School of Visual Concepts to have the students pitch designs as part of their capstone project. We saw many talented people, but Delany's team design was our first choice by far. A big reason for that was Delany. As the design researcher, she really listened to and understood our needs and goals, as well as our concerns and boundaries. She did competition research into what like-organizations were doing, deep dives into our audiences and specific case studies, and even went so far as to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of running a nonprofit. That research was invaluable and evident in the end result - a truly beautiful, elegant, easy-to-navigate website that provided a lot of information, and inspiration, and provided channels to donate while highlighting the org mission.
